Introduction to Malik Law Associates-Law Untold (MLA)
Malik Law Associates-Law Untold (MLA) is one of the largest and most reputable law firms in Pakistan, highly regarded for its expertise in both contentious and non-contentious matters. The firm has over 100 associates operating from its offices in Lahore. The firm is regularly recommended in national and international industry publications.
Mr. Tahir Pervaiz Malik joined the parent firm in 2002 and quickly established a name for himself. He is a Senior Partner of the firm and is strongly recommended for both contentious and non-contentious matters, especially as a policy drafting expert in civil, criminal, family, insurance, and tax law. He served as the Assistant Advocate General of Punjab (2022-2023) (during which time he was not practicing with the firm). In that capacity, he represented the Government of Punjab in several landmark constitutional and public interest matters, including the successful defense of many cases.
He, along with his team, drafted the First Pakistan Disability Act in 2011 and later drafted the Rules and Regulations of The Punjab Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Act 2022, apart from many policy draftings for public and private interest as a Legal Consultant.
Evolution of the Firm
The founder firm, Malik Law Associates, was formed in the 1980s by Sir Pervaiz Inayat Malik, who had been a Judge of the Lahore High Court, Lahore, and remained a Member of the Pakistan Bar Council, Member of the Punjab Bar Council, and a counterpart of the parent Law Firm led by Sir Naveed Inayat Malik, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, since the 1990s.
Sir Naveed Inayat Malik served as Deputy Attorney General for Pakistan and remained a Member of the Punjab Bar Council, Punjab. The founder firm has hundreds of associate lawyers who are now shining stars in the legal fraternity, such as Mr. Zaheer Ahmad Cheema, Member Punjab Bar Council (Gujranwala), Secretary Gujranwala Bar Association; Mr. Zameer Ahmad Jheedo, Member Punjab Bar Council (Lahore), Vice President Lahore Bar Association, both of whom are holding elected representation of the Punjab Bar Council for a continuous second tenure and will hold this office for 10 years; Mr. Fawwad Ramey, elected as Senior Vice President Lahore Bar Association; Mr. Qamar Shahid, Vice President Lahore Bar Association; Mr. Ali Imran Awan, Secretary Nankana Bar Association; Mr. Zulqarnain Dogar, Secretary Sheikhupura Bar Association; Mr. Waqas Ahmad Kahloon, Vice President Lahore Bar Association; and Sheikh Mansoor Naeem, Adv, Library Secretary Kharor Paka Bar Association (2020-2021). The firm has kept up its healthy tradition of nurturing and promoting indigenous talent.
The next generation of lawyers at the firm is well on its way. Omer Pervaiz Malik and Mrs. Omer Pervaiz Malik joined the firm and are now working independently as Get Legal Support (GLS) but are also partners in TOS Ventures along with Shawaiz Tahir, Legal Intern, and are also active representatives of HEERA, a philanthropist aspect of MLA, which is regularly recommended for the implementation of Human Rights & Sustainable Development Goals.
